Tour Details Your adventure begins bright and early, typically between 01:45-4:00 a.m. (depending on your hotel's location), with a convenient pick-up directly from your hotel. Setting off from the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, you'll first stop amidst the breathtaking panorama of Kumluca, renowned for its abundant tomato cultivation, nestled in the mountains.
Continuing your journey, you'll reach Finike, an ancient seaport steeped in history. From there, the path leads to Myra, where remnants of the fascinating Lycian civilization await your exploration. A highlight of your visit will undoubtedly be the awe-inspiring Necropolis, featuring intricately carved tombs hewn into the rock. Nearby stands a magnificent ancient theater, adding to the grandeur of the site. Myra was also home to St. Nicholas in the 4th century, known for spreading Christianity in Turkey and opposing paganism. You'll have the opportunity to visit his church in Demre, adorned with vibrant frescoes and housing his sarcophagus. The vicinity also boasts three other monuments dedicated to the revered saint.
Following a delightful lunch at a local eatery, you'll embark on a short journey (approximately 30 minutes) to Ucagiz port. Here, you'll board a one-hour cruise to the sunken island of Kekova. Once a single island, seismic activity split Kekova into smaller isles, now adorned with the remnants of ancient structures, fortresses, theaters, and even underwater sarcophagi. The coastline features a glass-bottomed boat, offering a fascinating glimpse into the port and scattered amphorae below. Weather permitting, you might even have the chance to take a refreshing swim in the picturesque gulf. After the cruise, you'll be chauffeured back to your hotel, concluding your enriching day of exploration.
